Working with our local Certified Installer Randy Rodgers, based in Smithers, BC we designed and installed this renewable energy system.

The client's property is located down a twisty and steep dirt road some distance from town. They do have grid power, but outages are frequent and long-lasting. The client decided a grid-tie solar system would allow them to produce green power and sell to the grid, as well as backup power during outages.

System Details:

• Xantrex XW 6048 - 6 kW 48VDC grid-tie inverter
• 16x golf cart batteries
• 2.1 kW PV Array (12 x Sharp 175 watt)
• Custom ground-mounted array, elevated to clear snow
• New essential services electrical panel installed for loads to be backed up
• Auxillary 6 kW gasoline generator tie-in for extended outage charging
